Measuring Tips

In order to get the most accurate fencing quantity and size, it is important to measure accurately.
The following tips are suggestions to help you in your measuring process.

For accurate measurements, make sure that the tape measure is stretched tight so that there is not any slack in the tape. Measure from inside of post to inside of last post on straight run. (don't include end posts in the measurement). Windscreen should only cover the fence mesh/ material. Gates - measure width and height inside of gate frame.

When possible, try to keep windscreen panels at a maximum of 50 feet in width. This allows for easier handling and installation. Do NOT round off measurements. Send exact measurements of all fencing and gates in feet and inches. Do NOT assume two fences are the same size. Measure every fence just to be safe. Make all measurements at site when possible rather than from drawings. Make note of each measurement immediately. Do not make multiple measurements before writing them down.

ORDERING MEASUREMENT:

Once you have confirmed your measurements, now you are ready to go to the ePrivacyScreen shopping cart and order your material. You will have the option of choosing your color, height and lengths required. ePrivacyScreen subtracts 4 inches off the height of your measurements to allow room for a taught fit. We do not subtract from the length.

INSTALLING WIDESCREENS

Hang the hems of the binding in toward the fence, smooth side out (typically the outside of the fence). Start with a top corner of the fence and top corner grommet and work your way down to bottom of the fence. Once you have attached each grommet, work your way down the fence line (left to right or right to left) starting at the top and stretching material as you go. Once you reach the end of the section, return and do the same at the bottom porting of the screen, stretch material tight with each attachment. For windscreens over 8 ft tall it is recommended that you request binding to the added to the center of the screen to minimize movement from the wind. This is optional and is only added upon request.

General Product information:

Always hose down windscreen for cleaning. This allows the force of the water to remove grit and other abrasive particles that may damage the screen over time. Let the product air dry and it will look great for years to come. Should product be cut or torn be sure to repair immediately.

Fastening Devices. There are two recommended fasteners: Attachment ties - self locking plastic fasteners that speed any windscreen installation. ePrivacyScreen recommends hi tensil strength, they are strong and easy to handle, and available in black color which hides them from view.

Hog rings - These are galvanized steel rings that need to be crimped closed into each grommet. Hog rings are typically used only for commercial or industrial applications, galvanized grey color. *Hog ring pliers are also required with this application.
